Course DescriptioN
The 10-mile course offers a fast and scenic introduction to Antelope Island, combining runnable shoreline trails with a few short climbs and wide-open views of the Great Salt Lake. It’s approachable but still delivers a taste of the island’s exposure, terrain, and character.
The race begins at the Marina, where runners head out on the Mountain View Trail for approximately 1 mile before turning right onto the fence line trail. This opening section is smooth and runnable, allowing the field to spread out quickly.
From there, runners climb gradually along the fence line for about 0.75 miles before veering right again toward Buffalo Point Road for another 0.75 miles. This section introduces the first sustained climb of the race, gaining elevation while opening up views of the lake below.
The course then transitions onto the Lakeside Loop around Bridger Bay for approximately 4 miles. This is the fastest and most flowing section of the course, with smooth, runnable terrain and wide-open shoreline views. About 1 mile into this segment (mile 3.8), runners will complete a short out-and-back to the Bridger Bay aid station before continuing along the loop. Calm conditions can bring reflective water and expansive views, while wind can add a layer of challenge across this exposed stretch.
At mile 7.15, runners reach the second and final aid station near the southern end of the White Rock Bay Campground parking lot.
From here, the course turns back inland for a 1.4-mile climb up the fence line dirt road and trail. This is the final test of the race—a steady, exposed climb that rewards controlled effort before cresting near the top.
After the climb, runners descend a short but steep quarter-mile section back down to the Mountain View Trail. Once there, a left turn leads to the final 1.2-mile stretch back to the Marina.
From the shoreline to the ridge and back again, the 10-mile course delivers a compact but complete Antelope Island experience.
