Course DescriptioN

The 50K course delivers the quintessential Antelope Island experience — expansive lake views, rolling singletrack, and quiet miles shared with bison and shoreline breezes. It’s a runnable, scenic course that highlights the island’s northern and western terrain.

The race begins at the marina, where runners head up the road for about a quarter mile before joining the Mountain View Trail. After roughly one mile, runners turn right to climb the hill that parallels the fence line. Follow the dirt road as it bends right, eventually meeting a short paved section before transitioning to the Lakeside Trail — a flowing section that carries you toward the Bridger Bay Campground aid station.

From Bridger Bay, continue west along the Lakeside Trail and down the dirt road to reach the White Rock Bay trailhead. Here, you’ll join the Elephant Head Trail, running out to the Elephant Head aid station before completing the out-and-back on the rugged Elephant Head spur. Continue around the Split Rock Loop, where rolling hills and sweeping views of the Great Salt Lake make for one of the most beautiful sections of the course, before returning to Elephant Head aid.

After refueling, retrace your steps to White Rock Bay, turn left, and follow the course in reverse along the dirt road and Lakeside Trail to Bridger Bay aid. From there, continue back through the short paved stretch, turn right, and rejoin the dirt road as it curves along the fence line. Follow the road downhill until it meets the Mountain View Trail, then turn left for a fast, flowing finish back to the marina.

Spanning roughly 31 miles, this course is a full tour of Antelope Island’s northern and western edges — runnable, remote, and rich with views that stretch endlessly across the Great Salt Lake.
